  • How to Host on Airbnb Class

    This Class will be held in the Computer Technology Building room CT 107 on the Highalnd Community College campus.  This is a class taught by Library Director, Maggie McKeithan, about tips and basics of listing homes or a room for rent on the Airbnb website for the opportunity to host tourists for events such as the solar eclipse in August.  For the evening session in Highland: You will have the option to register on Airbnb right there as we walk you through the process. If you are wanting to do this you should bring at least 5 good, well-lit photos that show the spaces that would be used by your guests (sleeping space, bathrooms, kitchen, outside of house, etc.) on a flash drive ...
     
  • Highland Teen to Host Car Show

    As a senior class assignment called Demonstration of Knowledge, Lane is hosting a car show. It will be held at the HIAWATHA, KS HIGH SCHOOL PARKING LOT and will start at 1pm on March 19th and end at 4pm. Come and support him and see all the cars, trucks, bikes, etc.

  • Preparing for the Emerald Ash Borer in Your Community

    Municipalities, public entitites, and industries are invited to learn to identify and mitigate the damage caused by the emerald ash borer.  Experts will explain the impact of emerald ash borer to community forests and governmental budgets, how to prepare for EAB before and once it is detected in your community and county, and your role and responsibility with this issue. The program will be held from 1-4:30pm (registration starting at 12:30) on June 7 2017, at the Troy Community Building (1225 Last Chance Rd, Troy KS 66087).     Homeowners, landowners, and the general public are invited to learn about the Emerald Ash Borer, its threat to local trees, and effects on what we can move and do in the county. Learn how to identify the insects, detect when they’re damaging a tree, and what to do about it. Homeowners, landowners, and concerned citizens are invited to attend this informational event.
