NOTICE OF PLACES, DATES OF REGISTRATION
In compliance with the provisions of K.S.A. 25-2310, 25-2311(3) and 25-2316c notice is hereby given the books for registration of voters will be open at the following places at the time specified: The County Clerk’s Office, Courthouse, Troy, Kansas, every day except Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.; the Division of Children and Families; WIC Offices; Medicaid Offices; and the Division of Motor Vehicles or online at www.voteks.org.
NOTICE
At 5 p.m. on the 15th day of October, 2024, the books for registration of voters wishing to vote in the 2024 General Election to be held Tuesday, November 5th, 2024, will close and will remain closed until the 6th day of November 2024.
A citizen of the United States who is eighteen (18) years of age or older, or will have attained the age of eighteen (18) years by the next election, must register before they can vote. Registration closes twenty-one (21) days prior to every election.
When a voter has been registered according to law, their registration shall continue to be valid until one of the following occurs: (1) Registrant confirms in writing that the registrant has moved outside the county in which the registrant is registered, or registers to vote in any other jurisdiction, or (2) Registrant has failed to respond to notices sent pursuant to K.S.A. 2316c (e) (1) through (e) (4), or 3) has a felony conviction, or (4) Registrant has no election-related activity for any four-calendar year period. When a voter changes residence to another precinct within the state, within thirty (30) days preceding any election, such voter must complete a new voter registration application in their new precinct.
When one of the following occurs: (1) the voter changes name by marriage, divorce or legal proceeding, or (2) the voter changes residence within the same precinct, such voter will be required to complete a new registration application at the precinct supplied by the election officer to update his or her registration.
Under the Secure and Fair Elections Act, (SAFE Act) intended to ensure that all voters are qualified to vote and to make it more difficult to cast an illegal vote, every voter must show valid photo ID when voting.
A voter requesting a ballot by mail must either write their driver’s license number on the application or send a copy of a photo ID to get a ballot.
Any person may apply in person or by mail to the county election officer to be registered. Application forms shall be provided by the county election officer upon request in person or in writing by the applicant.
Such applications shall be signed by the applicant under penalty of perjury.
