Back in 2016, the Doniphan County website went through a long awaited design overhaul. Since then, the county has learned a lot about what citizens need and use the site for most and five years later, it was time to implement a modern, fresh and reorganized website look.
The improved site is a streamlined and credible up-to-date source for Doniphan County information for government, business, and community events. Through this site, the county hopes to communicate quickly and easily with the public on relevant updates, notices, announcements, news and also to simply promote the wonderful county we live in.
Doniphan County Economic Development Director, Leah B. Johnson, said “We live in a digital age where people are constantly looking online for the correct and latest news and information. It is important to continue to provide that at the county level in an updated and easy to use way.”
The new site still has all the functions and features that citizens regularly use, including the GIS mapping in the quick access featured buttons as well as a news section, event calendar, burn-ban status, residential information and county business directory, among many other things.
New to the site with this update is a county history section, updated tourist attractions page, a dedicated contacts section and a “How do I” drop down menu for most frequently sought after information and services. In the future, the county, as well as specifically the Economic Development Department and the Doniphan County Chamber of Commerce, hopes to implement an e-newsletter on a need basis to further communicate very timely and specific information to county residents who sign-up for the email updates.
Just because the new website look has launched, does not mean the updating is over. As needs arise and information is available, the county will continue to add, adjust and manage the website to keep up with the changing times. Please contact economic.development@dpcountyks.com if you find something on the county website that needs editing.
