The Doniphan County Chamber of Commerce is looking to hire an assistant as a contracted position.

Position Overview

Title: Doniphan County Chamber Assistant
Location: Doniphan County, Kansas (Home-Based)
Position Type: Contract
Compensation: $15–$20 per hour (based on qualifications)
Hours: Flexible, approximately 10–15 hours per week
Evening and weekend availability may be required for events and meetings
Reports To: Chamber Board of Directors

About the Role

This position serves as the central hub of communication and coordination for the Chamber. You’ll work closely with board members, local businesses, and community partners to support initiatives, events, and outreach efforts across the county.

This is a flexible, home-based role ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, and passionate about community development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for Chamber members and community partners
  • Coordinate Chamber events, meetings, and programs
  • Support membership recruitment, onboarding, and retention
  • Manage communications (email, social media, newsletters, etc.)
  • Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and reports
  • Collaborate with the Board on strategic initiatives
  • Promote local businesses and Chamber activities
  • Maintain records, databases, and organizational documents
  • Assist with sponsorships and partnership development

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organization and time management
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with basic office tools (email, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Experience in marketing, community relations, business development, or nonprofit work is a plus
  • Connection to or knowledge of Doniphan County is highly preferred
