The Doniphan County Chamber of Commerce held their annual Golf tournament on Friday, Oct. 2, at Bellevue Country Club in Atchison.
There were 15 teams that played in the 4-person scramble golf tournament on a beautiful, cool, sunny day. Atchison Hospital had three teams A, B, and C, Hiawatha Hospital Highland Clinic, MCON, Summit Truck, Franken Eye Care, Highland Community College, Nodaway Valley Bank, Wathena Healthcare & Rehab, Bob Woodruff team, Rainbow, Bendena State Bank, Doniphan West USD #111, and Brian White Team.
Championship flight was won by Wathena Healthcare & Rehab, 2nd MCON, 3rd Nodaway Valley Bank, and 4th Doniphan West USD #111. A Flight winner was 1st place Atchison Hospital Team A, 2nd place Rainbow, 3rd Place Atchison Hospital Team C and 4th place Bendena State Bank. Longest putt by a woman was Carol Buetzer, Longest putt by a man was Tim Resler, Longest drive by a woman was Bonnie Enneking, Longest Drive by a man was Mike Alfrey, and closest to pin for a woman was Carol Buetzer, and closest to pin by a man was Dr. John Eplee. Pink ball winning team was Nodaway Valley Bank.
Rainbow provided donuts and sponsored lunch for the teams for golf tournament. Hole in one contest was sponsored by Highland Insurance.

Prizes were donated by Rainbow, AFLAC, Wathena Healthcare & Rehab, State Farm Insurance, Highland Community College, Petal, Stems & More, Triple L Tire, Highland Stop & Shop, Jo’s Place, Davies Oil, Simpson’s AF Super, Rookie’s Sports Bar & Grill, Shack’s House Designs, Rohrer’s Wings & Webs, Nigus Liquor, Wal-Mart, First Option Bank, and Beck’s Seed.
Wathena Healthcare & Rehab supplied each player a nice cooler bag and other items in the bag.
Thank you to all the Chamber of Commerce Board members for their great help at the tournament. Also, thanks to Teresa McAnerney and Jessica Studer for setting up and preparing the food for the players. The others members who were also great help with the food, banners and signs were Joyce Simpson, Jim Faunce, Matt Peterson, Theresa Rohrer, and Leah B. Johnson and Pat McKernan for setting up prizes, marketing, and etc.
