There will be vendors around the main courthouse square in Troy, and live music!
The Seekers of Light and Knowledge (SLK), a women’s service and literary group, is planning to host a Historic Homes Tour in Troy on the afternoon of Sunday, August 20, 2017. The tour will showcase several of Troy’s beautiful, historic homes and will serve as an activity for visitors and area residents alike to enjoy as part of the festivities surrounding the total solar eclipse on August 21. More details on the tour will follow as they become available.
Monday, August 21, 2017
Solar eclipse watch parties, food vendors, and live music.
11:45- Partial Eclipse begins (everyone who is outside MUST be wearing safety eclipse glasses or welding hats to avoid eye damage)
1:06- Total Solar eclipse begins and will last for 2 minutes and 38 seconds (only time it will be safe to look at sun without the safety eclipse glasses)
1:09- Back to partial eclipse (safety eclipse glasses need to be back on)
2:35- Eclipse ends and everything returns back to normal.
